We will meet at the famous police statue in Oulu marketplace at 18:45. From there we will walk to the motor boat waiting for you at the dock of marketplace.
The 6-metre boat is fitted with a heated cabin and suited for 5 visitors. From the marketplace the boat will navigate through the beautiful delta of Oulu River which provides a completely different perspective on the cityscape of Oulu. During the trip the skipper will tell you about the history and culture of the surrounding waterways and shoreline locations.
From the delta the journey continues to the Oulu sea which is a part of the Gulf of Bothnia. Now you’ll be whisked away to the other side of the Kempele Bay to the beautiful islands of Varjakka where you get to experience the Bothnian nature at its finest. You can also catch a glimpse of the ferry operating between the Oulunsalo cape and Hailuoto, the biggest island of the Gulf of Bothnia.
From there, the boat will move back to the marketplace through the channel of Toppila, where you can see both historical views and the new apartment houses of the growing city. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are included.
If the wind is too strong, we will make the boat trip to the upper parts of river Oulu.
