The Finnaction kayaking trip to islands of Varjakka begin with transportation from the Oulu tourist information to the shoreline. In the beginning we’ll teach the basics of kayaking and go carefully through the safety features. Paddling provides a unique perspective on the nature and cityscape of Oulu. In conclusion we’ll transport you back to the city of Oulu.
The trip is lead by a trained and experienced instructor and carried out with single seated kayaks. However, for bigger groups two-seated kayaks and open canoes are available as well. The trip doesn’t require any previous experience.
The Islands of Varjakka provide a fascinating scenery of Gulf of Bothnia at its finest. The trip also offers a completely different perspective on the cityscape compared to for example a walk.
This trip includes a disembarkment on an island providing shelter and a fireplace so it’s possible to roast sausages and make a pot of coffee on open fire in the traditional Finnish way. The starting point of the paddling trip is situated about 25 minutes from the Oulu tourist information.
